One of our clients, specialised within the Shipping and Logistics sector, is looking to onboard a seasoned Finance Director to join their growing team.
Duties:
Act as the senior finance lead for the Malta-based entities providing independent financial oversight to Group leadership
Maintain and oversee accurate accounting records for multiple group entities (currently two Maltese, and 2 overseas), building and scaling the finance function as the Group expands
Prepare and review monthly and quarterly management accounts, and manage and reconcile intercompany balances and ledgers
Compile and review VAT workings and submissions across Malta, and other jurisdictions
Coordinate with local providers on corporate tax computations and filings
Support preparation of consolidated financial statements at Group level, also supporting implementation of consolidation and FP&A tools
Lead and coordinate annual audit processes across various jurisdictions
Prepare financial reporting materials for Board and shareholder meetings, supporting board processes and governance documentation
Strengthen and maintain internal control frameworks, ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements across relevant jurisdictions, and strengthening financial governance frameworks
Support the Group CFO in implementing finance technology and systems enhancements, also maintaining and enhancing accounting systems
Monitor liquidity and prepare cash flow forecasts, overseeing intercompany funding arrangements, and managing local banking relationships
Support oversight of capital requirements and financial risk exposures, leading relationships with auditors, tax advisors and banking partners
Requirements
Must hold 8+ years' post-qualification experience
Strong technical accounting knowledge (IFRS)
Technology-enabled and process-oriented mindset
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
Experience managing audits and working with tax advisors
Education and Experience
Must be a fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA or equivalent), and locally warranted
