Our client, an established and reputable organisation in the pharmaceutical sector, is seeking a motivated and analytical Cost Controller to join their finance team.
This position plays a pivotal role in supporting the financial oversight of two entities within the group, working closely with operational teams to ensure accurate cost tracking, efficiency improvements, and informed decision-making.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor and compare actual costs to standard costs, identifying discrepancies and areas for savings.
- Support the maintenance and regular updating of the standard cost system.
- Assist in managing inventory efficiently and help maintain optimal stock levels.
- Work closely with the operations team to meet budget targets and improve productivity.
- Develop and refine reporting tools to track monthly operational manufacturing costs.
- Establish and monitor KPIs related to direct and indirect production costs.
- Analyse plant utilisation and highlight areas of idle capacity.
- Collaborate on costing analysis for new product launches.
Requirements
- A minimum of two years’ experience in cost accounting or financial analysis within a manufacturing or production environment.
- A degree (Level 6 or higher) in Accountancy or an MBA.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Experience using ERP systems; familiarity with SAP is considered an asset.
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
