Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

  Central Malta  |  €80,000 - €85,000 Annually 

Our client is a renowned name on the Maltese islands and they operate in the services industry. They would like to employ a Chief Financial Officer(CFO) who will report directly into the CEO.

The Role

  • The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a senior executive and core member of the leadership team, acting as a strategic partner to the CEO and Board. 
  • The role is designed to support and shape the Group’s next phase of growth, going beyond traditional financial management to actively drive long-term value creation.
  • The CFO leads financial strategy, planning, forecasting, and performance management with a forward-looking approach. 
  • You will translate business strategy into clear investment priorities and execution plans, while working closely with senior leadership on expansion and growth initiatives.
  • You will be managing investment evaluation and capital allocation. 
  • The CFO takes a hands-on role in assessing acquisitions, new ventures, and major projects, developing robust financial models and business cases to support disciplined decision-making across the Group.
  • You will take full accountability for financial management and governance, including accounting, reporting, treasury, tax, compliance, and internal controls. 
  • The CFO manages cash flow, working capital, and funding requirements, while maintaining strong relationships with banks and financial institutions.
  • The CFO works closely with operational and commercial teams to provide real-time financial insight. 
  • You will support project costing, margin control, profitability analysis, and play a key role in tenders, bids, and major commercial negotiations.
  • The CFO is responsible for building scalable financial structures, systems, and teams. This includes driving digital transformation, developing high-performing finance teams, and fostering a culture of integrity, accountability, transparency, and commercial awareness aligned with the Group’s values and growth ambitions.

Requirements

  • Candidates must have a minimum of five years’ senior financial leadership experience in construction or M&E, hold a recognised professional qualification, and demonstrate success in scaling businesses within complex, multi-entity environments.
  • The role requires a senior finance leader capable of building, mentoring, and leading high-performing teams while embedding a culture of accountability, transparency, and commercial awareness
  • Strong communication, commercial acumen, strategic thinking, and resilience are essential, with the ability to translate financial insight into effective operational, strategic, and investment decisions.
  • The ideal candidate demonstrates high integrity, robust governance and risk discipline, a results-driven mindset, and strong alignment with the company’s values and long-term growth objectives.
  • Candidates having a manufacturing or services industry experience will be given preference.
  • Must be a warranted accountant
