Chief Financial Officer ( CFO )

  South of Malta  |  €80,000 - €85,000 Annually 

A reputable client of ours specialised in the Transport and Logistics sector, is currently looking to onboard a Chief Financial Officer ( CFO ) to join their team. The designated person will be working closely with the CEO, and duties include the following:

Duties:

  • Support the CEO of the Company and the Board of Directors on all matters related to finance
  • Manage the day-to-day running of the finance function, overseeing timely reporting of financial performance leading the preparation of budgets, business plans and feasibility studies
  • Ensure that adequate controls over expenditure, revenue and cash are in place and that related rules and processes are being adhered to
  • Communicate efficiently and effectively with all employees and external stakeholders of the companies as required
  • Lead the management of the company's treasury function, maintaining a solid working relationship with the group bankers ensuring that adequate levels of financing is available to the group to pursue its plans in the most efficient manner.
  • Develop and maintain a good understanding of the Company's operations and relevant logistics markets
  • Collaborate with the CEO and executive team to drive business performance and improve decision-making;
  • Tracking cash flow and analysing the company’s financial weaknesses and strength, whilst proposing corrective actions.
  • Lead and motivate subordinates to promote employee engagement and empowerment and stimulate a high performing team
  • Build and develop a high-performing finance team by fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.
  • Leverage technological advancements to automate processes, improve efficiency, and enable data-driven decision-making at the executive and board level.

Requirements

  • In-depth understanding of financial regulations, accounting standards, and risk management practices
  • Demonstrated expertise in financial strategy, capital management, and leading business transformation initiatives
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Maltese
  • Experience in the logistics sector will be given strong preference, however this is not a non negotiable requirement

Education and Experience

  • Must be a fully qualified and locally warranted Accountant
