Assistant Financial Controller
Central Malta | €40,000 - €45,000 Annually
Our client within the Hospitality Industry is looking to recruit an Assistant Financial Controller to join their team.
Main responsibilities include :
Assist in the preparation and presentation of monthly financial reports.
Analyse financial data to identify variances and potential cost-control opportunities.
Provide support to the Financial Controller in budgeting and forecasting processes.
Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities.
Ensure accurate and timely completion of month-end and year-end closing procedures.
Perform bank reconciliations and monitor cash flow.
Maintain effective internal controls to protect hotel assets.
Ensure compliance with local tax regulations, accounting standards, and company policies.
Support both internal and external audits and assist in resolving audit findings promptly.
Work closely with department heads to align financial practices with operational objectives.
Monitor inventory levels and cost controls across all operational areas.
Assist with capital expenditure (CAPEX) planning and tracking.
Support and mentor junior accounting staff, including assisting with training and development
Contribute to the automation and optimization of financial processes.
Assist in maintaining and enhancing financial systems.
Requirements
2–3 years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably within the hospitality industry.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of hotel accounting standards will be considered an advantage.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
