Assistant Financial Controller

Our client within the Hospitality Industry is looking to recruit an Assistant Financial Controller to join their team.

Main responsibilities include : 

• Assist in the preparation and presentation of monthly financial reports.
• Analyse financial data to identify variances and potential cost-control opportunities.
• Provide support to the Financial Controller in budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities.
• Ensure accurate and timely completion of month-end and year-end closing procedures.
• Perform bank reconciliations and monitor cash flow.
• Maintain effective internal controls to protect hotel assets.
• Ensure compliance with local tax regulations, accounting standards, and company policies.
• Support both internal and external audits and assist in resolving audit findings promptly.
• Work closely with department heads to align financial practices with operational objectives.
• Monitor inventory levels and cost controls across all operational areas.
• Assist with capital expenditure (CAPEX) planning and tracking.
• Support and mentor junior accounting staff, including assisting with training and development
• Contribute to the automation and optimization of financial processes.
• Assist in maintaining and enhancing financial systems.

Requirements

• 2–3 years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably within the hospitality industry.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of hotel accounting standards will be considered an advantage.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
