Assistant Financial Controller
Central Malta | €45,000 - €55,000 Annually
Our client within the Insurance Industry is looking for an Assistant to the Financial Controller
Responsibilities:
Collect, check, and process data from insurance policies and claims.
Record all financial transactions, including premiums, claims, and commissions.
Prepare monthly reports for reinsurance and other related activities.
Calculate and record income and expenses that need to be spread over time.
Reconcile key financial accounts and make sure records are accurate and up to date.
Support the month-end reporting process by preparing entries and reviewing results.
Analyse performance data and provide reports for management and budgeting purposes.
Work closely with other teams, including underwriting, claims, and finance, to ensure correct financial information.
Help with audits and make sure all work meets company policies and legal requirements.
Look for ways to improve processes and make financial operations more efficient.
Requirements
Minimum 3 years’ post-qualification experience in financial control or accounting roles within the insurance sector.
Strong technical knowledge of insurance and reinsurance accounting.
Proven experience in financial control, reconciliations, and month-end processes.
Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
Education and Experience
Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent).
