Accounts Payable Officer

  Central Malta  |  €18,000 - €23,000 Annually 

A leading company in the Hospitality sector is currently on the lookout for an Accounts Payable Officer to join their team

Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring all hotel expenses are accurately recorded and authorized
  • Ensuring prompt and accurate payment of travel agent commissions and suppliers on a monthly basis
  • Supervising the Junior Cost Controller and assistants
  • Processing invoices, expense claims, and payment requests on the purchase ledger, including matching to goods received, purchase orders, and delivery notes
  • Reviewing and reconciling the general ledger to keep only suitable balances outstanding
  • Ensuring invoices have the correct authorization, liaising with those ordering goods and services
  • Maintaining and reconciling supplier accounts and keeping bank details updated
  • Processing payment runs on a regular basis, ensuring correct authorization, and referring to agreed payment terms or alternate internal instructions
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with suppliers and assisting in supplier query resolution
  • Reconciling the purchase ledger to supplier statements
  • Preparing accruals for unauthorized invoices and unmatched purchase orders and delivery notes

Requirements

  • Previous local experience in a similar role, ideally within hospitality
  • Fluency in English
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment
