We are working with a pharmaceutical company who are looking for an Accountant to join their team. This person will report directly to the Head of Finance
What you'll be doing
Prepare monthly management accounts and consolidated group reports, including variance analysis and supporting commentary
Assist in the development and monitoring of budgets and rolling forecasts
Track expenditure against approved budgets, ensuring compliance with internal controls while identifying risks and variances
Handle VAT and tax matters in accordance with Maltese regulations, maintaining full statutory compliance
Coordinate with internal and external auditors by supporting audit activities and resolving audit findings when necessary
Supervise invoicing and payment administration processes to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and timely execution
Evaluate production cost variances and deliver practical insights to improve operational performance
Requirements
2+ years of local experience in a similar role
Ability to analyse and interpret cost variances within a production setting
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word; experience with SAP ERP is considered an asset
Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
