Accountant

Our client, an IT start-up company, based in Malta and expanding internationally, is looking to recruit a Accountant to join their team. This is a great opportunity for the person to grow their accounting experience and level up in their career. 

What you’ll be doing

• Taking the lead on debt collection and credit management, building good working relationships with both customers and supplier finance teams.
• Keeping financial data accurate and up to date by managing monthly reconciliations, including detailed bank reconciliations.
• Owning all bank-related matters, ensuring due diligence is followed at every step.
• Preparing management accounts and providing the CEO with solid support on budgets, forecasts, and strategic planning.
• Staying on top of cash flow management, as well as handling VAT computations and making sure VAT returns are submitted on time.
• Playing a key role in audit processes, compiling financial statements, and preparing company tax returns.
• Overseeing payroll reviews, FSS filings, and salary payments to ensure employees are paid accurately and on schedule.
• Helping with funding initiatives and coordinating supplier renewals to keep business operations running smoothly.

Requirements

• In process of pursuing a Degree in Accounting or fully qualified in Accounts
• Proven experience in financial management, preferably within a dynamic environment.
• Strong knowledge of accounting procedures and standards.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Commercial mindset with the ability to adapt to changing business landscapes.
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
