On behalf of our client, we are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant - VAT Specialist to join their team. In this role You’ll manage financial records, support bookkeeping, and work closely with our Accounting Manager.
Responsibilities:
In-depth understanding of VAT legislation, filing obligations, and compliance standards
Responsible for the accurate preparation and timely submission of VAT returns in line with statutory requirements
Ensure financial records are properly maintained and support the production of management accounts
Demonstrated experience in general accounting, including the preparation of financial statements and account reconciliations
Perform VAT reconciliations and maintain appropriate supporting documentation
Handle invoice processing and day-to-day bookkeeping activities
Utilize accounting systems to record, track, and manage financial transactions
Coordinate with internal departments to maintain accuracy and integrity in financial reporting
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a comparable field
Three to five years of relevant professional experience
ACCA certification completed or currently underway
Solid knowledge of VAT compliance, Social Insurance obligations, and dealings with tax authorities
Hands-on experience with accounting systems such as E-soft, Odoo, or similar platforms
Strong analytical capability with well-developed organizational and time management skills
Able to work effectively both as part of a team and independently
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Greek and English
Comfortable with IT systems and able to adapt to new technologies
Demonstrates high ethical standards, along with a proactive and positive mindset
Requirements
