We are seeking an experienced, organised, and hands-on IT Manager to oversee the company’s IT infrastructure, digital systems, cybersecurity governance, and operational IT framework within a highly regulated pharmaceutical environment.
This is not a traditional IT support role, but a critical operational position within a controlled environment where governance, compliance, cybersecurity, validation, and regulatory expectations are essential to business continuity and operational success.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and maintain the company’s IT infrastructure, digital systems, and operational IT framework
- Ensure all IT systems and digital operations comply with EU GMP requirements and data integrity standards
- Support the company’s strategic objective of achieving ISO 27001 certification in 2026
- Manage and supervise a small IT department consisting of two employees
- Develop, implement, and maintain IT governance policies, procedures, and cybersecurity controls
- Monitor and improve cybersecurity practices, business continuity measures, and disaster recovery processes
- Coordinate Computer Systems Validation (CSV), change control activities, and risk management processes
- Maintain audit readiness and ensure accurate documentation of IT systems and procedures
- Manage relationships with external IT vendors, software providers, and third-party service partners
- Support internal audits, external audits, supplier assessments, and regulatory inspections
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including auditors, vendors, regulatory authorities, and senior management
- Work collaboratively with Quality, Operations, Regulatory, and Supply Chain departments
- Balance strategic oversight with hands-on operational involvement to support business needs and operational efficiency
Requirements
- Proven experience managing, mentoring, and developing a small team
- Experience supporting or participating in ISO certification programmes, preferably ISO 27001.
- Knowledge of Computer Systems Validation (CSV), change control, risk management, audit readiness, and documentation practices

Education and experience
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in an IT management or supervisory role within a regulated and structured environment locally in Malta.
