Our client within the construction industry is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor to join its growing Projects Team. The selected candidate will contribute to the planning, cost management, and successful delivery of multiple construction projects, ensuring that projects are managed efficiently while maintaining high standards of quality and commercial performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing detailed cost estimates, budgets, and financial forecasts for construction projects
- Developing and managing billing schedules, ensuring accurate and timely invoicing
- Measuring and valuing construction works, including materials, labour, and equipment
- Conducting regular site visits to assess and verify quantities of work completed
- Preparing post-project reports to evaluate project performance and identify areas for improvement
- Reporting to the Head of Projects and other relevant stakeholders on proposals, budgets, project costs, and related matters
- Supporting the Projects Team with general administrative and commercial tasks as required
Skills & Requirements:
- Already be based in Malta
- Have an excellent command of both Maltese and English
- Hold a valid and clean driving licence
- Be able to interpret architectural and structural drawings and plans
- Demonstrate strong critical-thinking and problem-solving abilities, with the ability to identify practical solutions
- Have excellent knowledge of project management software, AutoCAD, and other relevant industry tools
- Possess a solid understanding of construction processes, contracts, and health and safety standards
- Demonstrate strong leadership, decision-making, and organisational skills
- Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Be able to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment, with the ability to lead, motivate, and train others
Education & Experience:
- Hold a Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field
- Have a minimum of 3 years' experience in quantity surveying and billing within construction projects
- Be proficient in quantity surveying software and relevant industry tools
- Have a good understanding of different construction methods, materials, and technologies
