As the Distribution Logistics Executive, you will oversee the intake, storage, and outbound dispatch of goods across all warehouse facilities. Your core focus will be maintaining precise inventory records while optimizing costs associated with transportation, warehousing, and stock management.
Responsibilities
- Execute and enforce standard operational policies and procedures.
- Design and deploy inventory management systems to ensure precise stock levels.
- Direct all daily receiving, warehousing, and distribution activities.
- Track and manage expenses tied to inventory, facility operations, and transport.
- Maintain a highly organized, secure, and orderly warehouse environment.
- Lead, motivate, and evaluate the performance of the logistics team.
- Champion workplace safety protocols and ensure the proper operation of all warehouse machinery.
- Collaborate with internal departments and external partners to guarantee the seamless movement of goods.
- Update and manage logistics master data within the ERP system.
- Plan and conduct routine physical inventory counts.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, implementing preventative measures.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance overall logistics efficiency.
- Provide backup support or step in for the Storekeeper as required by operational demands.
- Safely operate standard warehouse equipment, including pallet jacks and forklifts.
Experience & Skills
- A diploma in a relevant discipline and/or equivalent practical experience.
- Prior hands-on experience utilizing ERP software.
- Proven track record of successfully managing warehouse operations and leading logistics teams.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, alongside strong interpersonal skills.
- Capable of working effectively both autonomously and collaboratively with minimal oversight.
- Exceptional problem-solving capabilities.
- Strong analytical mindset.
- Proven leadership and mentoring abilities.
- Aptitude for training and developing staff members.
Salary is dependant on experience.
