We are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established organisation for a Laboratory Technician to join its engineering team and take responsibility for the maintenance, repair, and upkeep of specialist laboratory testing equipment.
This is a hands-on role suited to a technically skilled professional with strong electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration experience who enjoys troubleshooting complex equipment and ensuring high standards of reliability and safety.
What You'll Be Doing
- Carry out maintenance and repairs on specialist laboratory testing equipment, including climatic chambers, vibration shakers, thermal shock chambers, and similar systems.
- Plan and perform scheduled preventive maintenance to ensure equipment remains operational and reliable.
- Diagnose faults and carry out electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration-related repairs.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation for audit and compliance purposes.
- Coordinate with external contractors and subcontractors when specialist support is required.
- Ensure all maintenance activities are completed safely and to the required standards.
What We're Looking For
- Electrical Licence A & B is essential.
- Proven hands-on experience with electrical, mechanical, and complex refrigeration systems.
- Strong practical fault-finding and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
- Knowledge of pneumatic systems will be considered an asset.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safe working practices.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- A proactive, hands-on approach to maintenance and troubleshooting.
