Catering Equipment Technician

We are seeking a skilled and solutions-oriented Service Technician with a strong technical aptitude to support our clients within the hospitality and catering sector. The ideal candidate will have deep familiarity with food preparation environments and must be able to diagnose, troubleshoot, service, and repair commercial gas and electrical catering equipment. To support your daily field operations, a dedicated company van will be provided.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Inspect, diagnose, and troubleshoot technical faults on a wide range of commercial kitchen and hospitality appliances.
  • Maintain and repair gas-powered catering machinery, ensuring strict compliance with safety codes and manufacturer specifications.
  • Assist with the installation, commissioning, and testing of commercial catering equipment when required.
  • Drive the provided company van safely between hospitality venues to carry out scheduled maintenance, breakdown repairs, and emergency service requests.
  • Communicate clearly with managers and staff regarding equipment status, required repairs and estimated repair times.
  • Complete accurate service logs, parts orders, and maintenance documentation after every client visit.
  • Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with company procedures and health and safety regulations.
  • Maintain the company vehicle, tools, and equipment in a clean and serviceable condition.

Qualifications:

  • Proven practical experience troubleshooting commercial catering equipment within the catering, food service, or hospitality industry.
  • Strong technical aptitude with hands-on knowledge of electrical systems, mechanical components, and gas-powered catering equipment.
  • Excellent communication skills and a professional, customer-focused attitude when working in busy client environments.
  • Ability to execute mechanical connections and handle equipment installation tasks effectively.
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license (category B) to operate the assigned company vehicle.
  • A proactive problem-solver who can work efficiently under minimal supervision in high-pressure commercial kitchens.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and service documentation will be considered an asset.
  • A recognised technical qualification in Electrical, Mechanical, Gas, or a related engineering field will be considered an advantage.
