We are seeking a skilled and hands-on Heavy Equipment Mechanic. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy machinery, ensuring optimal performance and minimal downtime. This role requires strong diagnostic capabilities, practical mechanical experience, and the ability to work independently both in the workshop and on-site.
Duties are limited to but are not limited to:
Perform diagnostic tests to identify mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults in heavy equipment;
Carry out hands-on repairs and maintenance on cars, mini vans and trucks;
Use diagnostic tools to troubleshoot complex faults;
Conduct routine servicing, including oil changes, filter replacements, and system checks;
Ensure all work is completed in line with safety standards and company procedures;
Respond to breakdowns and perform on-site repairs when required;
Maintain accurate service records and report on work completed.
Requirements
Ability to use diagnostic tools and perform troubleshooting;
Maltese driving Licence B. D1 licence is considered an asset;
Flexible and reliable with a proactive approach to work;
Eligibility to work in Malta;
Professional level of written and spoken English. Maltese is considered a strong advantage.
Education and Experience
Technical certification or relevant qualification in mechanical engineering or a related field is an asset;
Experience with brands such as Mercedes Sprinter, Ford Transit, Scania, Volvo, and DAF is a strong asset;
Previous experience working on cars, coaches, minibuses, and trucks is a must.
