Our client, a well established equipment supplier in Malta, specialising in catering equipment solutions for the hospitality and food service industries are looking for a Showroom Sales Assistant to join their team and report directly to the Sales Manager. This role is ideal for a customer focused and sales driven individual who enjoys assisting clients, providing tailored solutions, and developing strong knowledge of products within the industry. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Welcome and assist walk-in customers, understanding their requirements and recommending suitable solutions
  • Handle client enquiries through emails and phone calls
  • Prepare quotations and proactively follow up with customers
  • Provide product information, pricing details, and support customers throughout the buying process
  • Maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients
  • Assist with pricing discussions and customer requests
  • Support periodic stock checks and showroom organisation
  • Build strong product knowledge across the company's extensive product range
  • During the first year, you will be based at the showroom, where your primary focus will be on developing a comprehensive understanding of the company's extensive product range, systems, and customer requirements. Subject to satisfactory performance, demonstrated competence, and the successful achievement of agreed objectives during this period, you may be given the opportunity to progressively expand your responsibilities from the second year onwards. This may include conducting external client visits, representing the company, developing customer relationships, and supporting business development opportunities within your assigned portfolio.

Working Hours: Monday to Friday: 08:30 – 13:00, 14:00 – 17:00 + Alternate Saturdays

Requirements

  • Must have an excellent level of verbal and written English
  • Candidate must already be based in Malta, with the legal right to work in Malta
  • Previous experience in sales, retail, hospitality, or customer-facing roles
  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail
  • A background in hospitality, catering, or related industries would be considered an asset due to the technical nature of the products
  • Must hold a valid driving licence
  • Career progression based on performance and achievement.
