Commercial Manager

Our client is looking to recruit a Commercial Manager to join their growing team. Reporting to the General Management, the chosen candidate will:

  • Develop and implement the Association's commercial strategy in line with the organisation's strategic objectives.
  • Identify and pursue new revenue opportunities through sponsorships, partnerships, licensing, hospitality, merchandising, and other commercial initiatives.
  • Maximise the commercial value of the Association's national teams, domestic competitions, football development programmes, and events.
  • Monitor industry trends, emerging commercial opportunities, and benchmark against leading international football organisations and sports properties.
  • Identify, negotiate, secure, and manage commercial partnerships and sponsorship agreements.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with sponsors, partners, and key stakeholders.
  • Develop innovative sponsorship packages tailored to competitions, events, digital platforms, and football initiatives.
  • Ensure the successful activation and fulfilment of sponsorship rights and contractual obligations.
  • Collaborate with partners to deliver mutually beneficial marketing and promotional campaigns
  • Develop initiatives that increase commercial revenue through events, hospitality, licensing, merchandising, and digital products.
  • Support the growth of digital commercial opportunities, including branded content, social media campaigns, and online activations.
  • Identify funding opportunities and sponsorships that support grassroots, youth, and women's football programmes.
  • Manage the Association's commercial rights portfolio, including branding, advertising inventory, promotional rights, and commercial assets.
  • Ensure sponsors receive agreed visibility, branding, hospitality, and engagement opportunities.
  • Coordinate the delivery of commercial activities during matches, tournaments, events, and official Association functions.
  • Work closely with Communications, Competitions, Marketing, Events, Media, and Digital teams to ensure successful delivery of commercial programmes.
  • Coordinate sponsor exposure across broadcast, digital, and social media platforms.
  • Support senior leadership during negotiations with strategic partners, governing bodies, and commercial stakeholders.
  • Prepare commercial reports, performance updates, and revenue forecasts for senior management.

  • Strong commercial acumen with a results-driven mindset.

Education and experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Sports Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in commercial partnerships, sponsorship sales, business development, or sports marketing.
  • Demonstrated success in securing and managing sponsorship agreements and commercial partnerships.
  • Strong negotiation, presentation, and relationship management skills.
