Our client, in the Payments Industry, is looking for a Risk Officer to join their team.
Responsibilities:
- Support the development and implementation of the organisation’s risk management and governance framework
- Identify, assess, monitor and report financial and non-financial risks
- Maintain risk registers, assessments, risk appetite metrics and Key Risk Indicators (KRIs)
- Prepare risk reports, dashboards and management information for senior management and governance committees
- Monitor risk exposures, incidents, breaches and control weaknesses, escalating significant issues when necessary
- Conduct risk assessments for products, services, projects, processes and business changes
- Monitor compliance with internal risk policies, procedures and approved limits
- Track risk mitigation measures and follow up on outstanding corrective actions
- Review and update risk policies, procedures and governance documentation
- Research emerging risks, industry trends and regulatory developments within the payments, financial services and fintech sectors
- Provide risk-related input for new products, services, systems and processes
- Coordinate risk-related information requested by management, auditors, regulators and other stakeholders
- Support internal and external audits, regulatory reviews and examinations
Requirements
- A minimum of 3 years of experience working within risk management, ideally coming from Financial Services, banking, payments, fintech or similar locally
- Experience in preparing risk assessments, risk registers, KRIs and risk reports
- Knowledge of the regulatory and risk management environment applicable to financial services and payments in Malta and/or EU
- Excellent verbal and written English
