Deputy Head of Safety & Compliance (Aviation)

A well-established client of ours is seeking to recruit a Deputy Head of Safety & Compliance to support the Head of Safety & Compliance in maintaining full regulatory compliance within an EASA-regulated and IOSA environment. The selected candidate must be capable of immediate operational deployment with minimal onboarding.

  • Assist the Head of Safety & Compliance in managing and maintaining the Compliance Monitoring Programme in line with EU Regulation 965/2012 (Air OPS), EU Regulation 1321/2014 (Part-CAMO / Part-145), and relevant IOSA standards.
  • Organise, schedule, and perform internal and external compliance audits across operational areas of the company.
  • Prepare and update audit schedules, documentation, and audit checklists.
  • Track audit observations and ensure corrective actions are implemented and closed within required timeframes.
  • Supervise compliance activities of third-party service providers and subcontracted organisations.
  • Coordinate with the Competent Authority during inspections and regulatory oversight activities.
  • Review regulatory updates and ensure relevant changes are communicated internally.
  • Contribute to safety oversight by supporting the Safety Management System and operational risk monitoring.
  • Assist with safety performance monitoring, occurrence reporting management, and analysis of safety trends.
  • Maintain safety and compliance records and support internal governance forums such as SRB and MRB meetings.

Requirements

  • Fluent in English (written and spoken).
  • Proficient in MS Office applications.
  • Strong analytical, reporting, and organisational skills.
  • High level of integrity and professional judgement.

Education and experience

  • Proven experience in Compliance Monitoring or Safety role within an EASA AOC environment
  • Strong working knowledge of EU Regulation 965/2012 and EU Regulation 1321/2014
  • Working knowledge of Occurrence Reporting requirements
  • Working knowledge of IOSA Standards (Preferred)
  • Experience with Flight Operations audits will be considered an asset.
  • Experience liaising with aviation authorities.
