Our client is looking for a Commercial & Project Manager to join their growing team. Reporting to the Director, the chosen candidate will:
Commercial Development
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective customers.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities both locally and internationally.
- Follow up quotations and commercial opportunities to maximise conversion rates.
- Support the development and execution of sales and growth strategies.
- Represent the company during customer visits, meetings, and industry events.
- Monitor market trends, customer requirements, and competitor activities to identify growth opportunities.
Project Management
- Coordinate customer projects from enquiry through to successful delivery.
- Act as the primary communication link between customers and internal departments.
- Monitor project schedules, budgets, deadlines, and customer requirements.
- Identify and manage risks, delays, and changes throughout project execution.
- Ensure customer expectations are met while maintaining profitability and operational efficiency.
- Conduct project reviews and implement lessons learned to improve future performance.
Quotation & Technical Coordination
- Work closely with Engineering, Production, Procurement, Logistics, and Quality departments.
- Review customer requirements and oversee the preparation of quotations.
- Support costing activities and assess project feasibility.
- Assist in developing manufacturing solutions that meet customer requirements.
- Ensure quotations are accurate, competitive, and delivered within agreed response times.
- Support the transition of awarded projects into production through effective technical and commercial handover.
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, mentor, and develop the Commercial Department and Design Office teams.
- Establish clear objectives, KPIs, and development plans for team members.
- Manage the day-to-day activities of the departments under your responsibility.
- Allocate resources and priorities to ensure efficient quotation preparation, project execution, and customer support.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, customer focus, and continuous improvement.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, training, and succession planning activities.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and identify opportunities for professional development.
Continuous Improvement
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives across commercial and operational functions.
- Support the implementation and effective utilisation of ERP and CRM systems.
- Provide management with market feedback regarding industry trends and customer requirements.
- Work with senior management to enhance business processes, profitability, and customer satisfaction.

Education and experience
- Experience in manufacturing, engineering, sheet metal fabrication, precision engineering, or a related technical industry.
- Proven experience in project management, business development, account management, or commercial management.
- Previous experience leading and developing multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and manufacturing requirements will be considered an asset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
- Fluent in English. Additional languages will be considered an asset.
