Our client, a well-established company within the aluminium industry, is seeking a Workshop Floor Manager to oversee daily workshop operations and coordinate the workflow between the office and the workshop floor. This hands-on role is responsible for managing orders, supervising workshop staff, and ensuring projects are completed efficiently and on time.
The Main Responsibilities include:
- Coordinate the daily operations of the workshop and act as the link between the office and workshop teams.
- Supervise and provide direction to workshop staff and part-time employees.
- Organise and prioritise production schedules to ensure client orders are completed on time.
- Visit client sites to take measurements when required.
- Prepare quotations based on client requirements and project specifications.
- Liaise with clients regarding quotations, orders, and project progress.
- Communicate job requirements clearly to workshop staff.
- Monitor the progress of ongoing orders and resolve operational issues where necessary.
- Ensure machinery is maintained and the workshop remains clean, organised, and safe.
- Report regularly to management on workshop operations and project status.
Working hours
Monday to Friday, 7:30am – 4:00pm
Requirements
- Ability to manage multiple orders and changing priorities.
- Good communication skills and confidence dealing with both clients and workshop staff.
- Strong organisational and planning skills.
- A practical, hands-on approach with strong problem-solving abilities.
- A valid driving licence and access to a personal vehicle. A fuel allowance will be provided for work-related travel. Alternatively, a company van may be provided; however, a Category C1 driving licence is required to use the company vehicle.

Education and experience
- Experience in a supervisory, workshop coordination, or floor management role.
- Previous experience in a workshop, manufacturing, aluminium, metal fabrication, construction, or a similar operational environment.
