Legal Counsel

Our client is looking to recruit either a Junior Legal Counsel or Legal Counsel, depending on the candidate's level of experience, to join their growing legal team. In this role, you will provide legal support across a broad range of corporate, commercial, regulatory, and compliance matters within the iGaming industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements, including software license agreements, service agreements, and NDAs.
  • Manage corporate transactions, restructurings, and share transfers.
  • Prepare corporate governance documentation, including board resolutions and minutes.
  • Maintain corporate records and oversee regulatory filings.
  • Support gaming license applications and ongoing regulatory obligations.
  • Liaise with external legal advisors, regulators, and corporate service providers.
  • Conduct KYC/AML due diligence and legal risk assessments.
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of internal compliance policies.
  • Manage intellectual property matters, including trademark registrations and renewals.
  • Advise on data protection and privacy matters.
  • Conduct legal research and provide practical legal advice to internal stakeholders.
  • Support legal training initiatives and identify legal risks.

Requirements

  • Fluent in English; fluency in Maltese is considered an asset.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong drafting, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Outgoing, collaborative, and a strong team player.
  • Driven, self-motivated, and eager to learn.

Education and experience

  • Up to 2 years' experience for the Junior Legal Counsel role, or 3–5 years' relevant experience for the Legal Counsel role.
  • Qualified lawyer (for the Legal Counsel level)
  • Experience in corporate, commercial, regulatory, or compliance law.
  • Experience within iGaming or another regulated industry is considered an asset.
