A highly regarded and reputable client of ours, specialised within Financial services, is looking to onboard a Legal and Compliance officer to join their growing team of professionals. The designated person will be reporting to the Head of Legal and Compliance, and will be responsible for supporting the related function across the full range of the Company's legal, regulatory and commercial matters:
Duties:
- Support the compliance function in meeting the Company's regulatory obligations, including assisting with policies, procedures and regulatory engagements.
- Review and mark up commercial agreements and third-party documentation, identifying legal and commercial risk, and proposing amendments accordingly.
- Analyse legislation, regulations and regulatory guidance relevant to the Company's activities as an EMI, and assess their impact on the business.
- Draft agreements, corporate policies, Board and shareholder resolutions, and other legal and corporate documentation, as required.
- Conduct legal research across the relevant Maltese and EU legal and regulatory frameworks, and continuously assist with regulatory correspondence and the preparation of supporting documentation.
Requirements
- Familiarity with the regulatory framework applicable to electronic money institutions and payment services.
- Experience in financial services regulation
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to draft clear and precise legal documentation
- Strong ability to manage multiple matters and prioritise effectively
