A highly reputable client of ours specialised in the logistics sector, is looking to onboard a seasoned, locally warranted Group Legal Counsel to join their team of professionals.
Duties: .
- Design and implement legal strategies that align with overall business objectives, while advising senior leaders and executives on legal, regulatory, and risk-related matters to support critical business decisions.
- Lead and oversee the legal function, providing direction, mentorship, and professional development to the team, providing clear, practical legal advice across a broad range of business areas.
- Draft, negotiate, and review complex international contracts, including joint ventures, partnerships, and other high-value commercial agreements.
- Establish, restructure, and manage corporate entities, maintaining strong governance both locally and internationally, ensuring compliance with legislation, regulations, and industry standards across multiple and diverse jurisdictions.
- Develop and enforce policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory obligations,
- Support business acquisitions, divestments, ownership structures, and registration requirements.
- Oversee and manage dispute resolution processes, including settlements, claims, litigation, and arbitration
- Supervise and direct contract management processes, contribute to template development, streamline workflows, and strengthen the Group’s Legal Framework.
Requirements
- Would ideally hold strong exposure to the aviation / logistics industry within an international in-house environment
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, as well as the capability of engaging with stakeholders at various levels.
- Expertise in international contract law, and corporate law.
- Proactive, solutions-oriented, with the expertise and confidence to navigate complex, cross-border business environments.
Education and Experience
- Must be in possession of a recognised legal degree and ideally be locally warranted
