Senior Claims Executive

We are working with a well known company in the insurance industry who are looking for a Senior Claims Executive to join their team. 

What you'll be doing

• Manage complex and high-value personal and commercial claims from notification through to settlement, ensuring fair and timely outcomes.
• Assess coverage, policy conditions, and claim validity using strong knowledge of insurance principles and policy wordings.
• Act as a senior escalation point for technical, legal, regulatory, fraud, and customer service matters.
• Investigate complex claims, identify fraud or coverage concerns, and negotiate settlements within delegated authority.
• Liaise with external specialists including lawyers, loss adjusters, medical experts, surveyors, and engineers.
• Manage complaints, reserves, and claims costs while ensuring regulatory compliance, customer fairness, and effective cost control.
• Provide technical guidance, coaching, and mentoring to claims handlers while supporting quality assurance and continuous process improvement.

Requirements

• 2 to 4 years' experience in insurance claims handling.
• Proven experience handling complex, high-value, contentious, or sensitive claims.
• Experience dealing with lawyers, loss adjusters, external experts, and other stakeholders.
• Experience supporting or mentoring junior team members is considered an asset.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Maltese.
