Our Client, a local Insurance company is looking for an Underwriter to join their growing team. Looking for people with eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and a passion for delivering excellent service.
Open for either people with experience in insurance, especially Personal lines Insurance, or else some one interested to kick-start their career in insurance.
Key responsibilities:
- Be the first point of contact for our customers and intermediaries, delivering exceptional service every time.
- Guide clients through our insurance products and services, ensuring clarity and confidence.
- Evaluate personal lines proposals, assess risks, and make timely underwriting decisions following agency guidelines.
- Handle quotes, policy updates, and renewals promptly—aiming for same-day turnaround on standard risks—while delivering high-quality client service.
- Keep client records, inquiry logs, and statistics up to date and submit required reports on schedule.
- Comply strictly with insurance regulations, legislative rules, and internal procedures, immediately escalating complex issues or complaints to management.
- Collaborate with teams like claims to align underwriting with business goals and suggest process improvements.
- Assist management with additional operational tasks as needed.
- Take ownership of your work with a strong sense of responsibility and accountability.
Requirements
- Excellent communication skills, ideally both in English and Maltese
- A natural problem-solver with top-notch customer service skills.
- A team player who thrives in a dynamic, professional environment.
- Holding an insurance qualification will be considered a strong asset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications
