Our client is looking to recruit a People, Risk and Compliance Specialist to join their growing team. The chosen candidate will:
Contract Management & Legal Compliance
- Draft, manage, and audit employment contracts, addendums, and statutory documentation across all operational jurisdictions in line with local labor laws and internal policies.
- Monitor global legislative updates affecting employment practices, maintaining a centralized repository of country-specific HR legal and statutory requirements.
- Conduct first-line reviews of commercial agreements (e.g., service provider contracts, consultancy agreements, NDAs) to flag potential risks prior to sign-off.
- Draft and update company-wide HR, finance, and governance policies, overseeing GDPR compliance and coordinating ISO certifications, audits, and KYC/due-diligence requests.
Multi-Jurisdictional Payroll Coordination & Financial Control
- Lead and manage monthly global payroll cycles, collaborating with localized payroll providers, authorities, and internal HR teams to ensure accurate cut-off inputs.
- Partner directly with the CFO on final controls, verifying statutory deductions, benefit distributions, expense reimbursements, and timely tax/payroll submissions.
- Identify process bottlenecks and spearhead initiatives to streamline and standardize payroll operations across international jurisdictions.
Corporate Risk & Governance
- Maintain a company-wide risk and compliance register, managing an accurate calendar of statutory filings, corporate licenses, entity obligations, and insurance renewals.
- Act as the primary internal contact for HR and Finance compliance queries, managing relationships with external legal, tax, and payroll advisors across all operating territories.
- Prepare comprehensive HR, payroll, risk, and compliance reporting dashboards for the HR Manager, Chief People & Governance Officer, and CFO.
Personnel Records, Mobility & Offboarding
- Oversee centralized personnel records within the HRIS, maintaining real-time tracking of employment history, work permits, visas, and tax statuses.
- Direct global mobility and relocation frameworks, ensuring administrative support for onboarding international hires (e.g., family reunification, visa applications, schooling).
- Manage cross-departmental offboarding workflows for resignations and terminations, coordinating with IT and operations for prompt access deactivation and compliance sign-offs.
Requirements
- Solid written and spoken Business English; Arabic is an advantage
- Ability to work closely and communicate clearly with both internal managers and external local advisors

Education and experience
- Hands-on experience with an HRIS that includes payroll, and proficiency in MS Office/Excel; prior experience with Indigo would be an advantage
- Demonstrated ability to read, draft and review contracts, and to translate legal and regulatory requirements into clear, practical guidance for managers
- Strong understanding of Maltese employment and immigration laws or payroll practice
- 5+ years' experience in a legal, risk, compliance or compliance-focused HR role, with proven working knowledge of employment law, employment contracts and payroll fundamentals, ideally spanning more than one jurisdiction
