Our client is seeking an experienced and proactive HR Manager to lead and manage all human resources functions within a standalone role. This position is ideal for a hands-on professional who can operate independently, take full ownership of the HR function, and support business growth while fostering a positive workplace culture.

The Main Responsibilities include: 

  • Manage the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and offboarding.
  • Independently handle day-to-day HR operations and administration as part of a standalone HR function.
  • Develop and implement HR policies and procedures in line with local employment legislation and best practices.
  • Act as the main point of contact for all employee relations matters, providing guidance and support to management and employees.
  • Oversee payroll coordination, leave management, contracts, HR documentation, and employee records.
  • Support managers with disciplinary procedures, grievance handling, performance reviews, and absence management.
  • Coordinate training and development initiatives and support employee engagement activities.
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws, health & safety requirements, and internal company standards.
  • Prepare HR reports and maintain accurate records and documentation.
  • Take ownership of operational HR duties that would typically be managed across a wider HR team.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a standalone HR role or senior HR position.
  • Strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practices.
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritise workloads, and manage confidential matters professionally.

Education and experience

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in HR, including experience operating within a standalone or autonomous HR role.
  • Strong understanding of employment law, HR policies, and employee relations practices.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and HR systems.
  • Certification in Maltese Employment Law
  • Fluency in both Maltese and English is essential.
