Our client is seeking an experienced and proactive HR Manager to lead and manage all human resources functions within a standalone role. This position is ideal for a hands-on professional who can operate independently, take full ownership of the HR function, and support business growth while fostering a positive workplace culture.
The Main Responsibilities include:
- Manage the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and offboarding.
- Independently handle day-to-day HR operations and administration as part of a standalone HR function.
- Develop and implement HR policies and procedures in line with local employment legislation and best practices.
- Act as the main point of contact for all employee relations matters, providing guidance and support to management and employees.
- Oversee payroll coordination, leave management, contracts, HR documentation, and employee records.
- Support managers with disciplinary procedures, grievance handling, performance reviews, and absence management.
- Coordinate training and development initiatives and support employee engagement activities.
- Ensure compliance with employment laws, health & safety requirements, and internal company standards.
- Prepare HR reports and maintain accurate records and documentation.
- Take ownership of operational HR duties that would typically be managed across a wider HR team.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a standalone HR role or senior HR position.
- Strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practices.
- Excellent organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently, prioritise workloads, and manage confidential matters professionally.
Education and experience
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in HR, including experience operating within a standalone or autonomous HR role.
- Strong understanding of employment law, HR policies, and employee relations practices.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and HR systems.
- Certification in Maltese Employment Law
- Fluency in both Maltese and English is essential.
