Our client is looking to onboard an experienced and proactive Human Resources Manager to lead and manage the company's HR function. The successful candidate will oversee the full employee lifecycle, ensure compliance with Maltese employment legislation, drive HR initiatives that support business objectives, and foster a positive and engaging workplace culture.
This role requires a confident HR professional with strong knowledge of employment law, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently while partnering closely with management.
Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources department, ensuring efficient HR administration and support across the business
- Oversee the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, employee development, and offboarding
- Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies, procedures, and best practices in line with Maltese employment legislation
- Partner with management to develop and implement strategic HR initiatives that support business objectives and workforce planning
- Act as the primary point of contact for employee relations matters, providing professional guidance and support to managers and employees
- Coordinate employee training, learning and development programmes, and performance improvement initiatives
- Plan and deliver employee engagement activities that promote a positive workplace culture
- Manage Third Country National (TCN), Single Permit, work permit, and employment license applications, ensuring full compliance with regulatory requirements
- Maintain accurate employee records and ensure confidentiality of all HR documentation
- Monitor compliance with employment legislation, company policies, and HR best practices
- Prepare HR reports and provide management with relevant workforce metrics and recommendations
Requirements
- A Degree in Human Resources Management or a related field
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in a Human Resources management role, preferably within a large or multi-site organization
- Strong knowledge of Maltese employment law, HR compliance, employee lifecycle management, and workplace policies
- Experience managing TCN, Single Permit, and work permit applications
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Maltese and English
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective working relationships across all levels of the organization
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and discretion when handling confidential information
- Excellent organisational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and HR information systems (HRIS) is considered an asset
