Our Client, a well known Pharmaceutical company is looking for an experienced and qualified Safety, Health and Environment Site Lead to join their team. The SHE Site Lead is responsible for establishing, implementing, and managing all safety, health and environmental policies, procedures, and programs. The role ensures compliance with Maltese regulations, fosters a strong safety culture, and leads ongoing improvement initiatives. Reporting to the Head of Engineering, your duties will include:
- Ensure compliance with Maltese SHE legislation, including OHSA, ERA, and ATEX directives.
- Serve as the Competent Person under local OHS laws (e.g., L.N. 36/2003, L.N. 44/2002).
- Lead HSE risk assessments, including REACH/CLP, ATEX zoning, and process safety.
- Drive and oversee SHE strategies, policies, training, and audits.
- Promote a proactive safety culture through team engagement, accountability, and open communication.
- Lead HSE projects in sustainability, waste management, energy efficiency, and emergency planning.
Working Hours: Monday - Friday
Requirements
- Proven local experience in a similar SHE leadership role of at least 2 years, preferably within pharmaceutical or manufacturing industries, ideally with ATEX exposure.
- Certified auditor or experience in ISO 45001/14001 auditing is an asset.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence and promote a culture of safety and accountability.
- Hold an excellent level of written and verbal English.
- Candidates must already be based in Malta, with the legal right to work in Malta

Education and experience
- MQF Level 6 qualification in OHS, Environmental Sciences, Engineering, Chemistry, or related field.
- Diploma in Health and Safety or equivalent, recognized by OHSA Malta as a competent person.
