Our client is seeking a proactive and hands-on Quality, Health, Safety & Environment Supervisor to support the implementation and continuous improvement of QHSE standards across its operations. Working in a dynamic, high-risk operational environment, the successful candidate will play a key role in promoting a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with legislation and company procedures, and supporting the wellbeing of employees, contractors, visitors and operational assets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the implementation and enforcement of the company's health and safety policies, procedures and best practices.
- Monitor day-to-day compliance with local health and safety legislation, company policies and industry standards.
- Conduct regular workplace inspections, safety audits and site observations.
- Carry out risk assessments and ensure appropriate control measures are implemented.
- Investigate incidents, accidents and near misses, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions.
- Participate in emergency preparedness activities and support safety training initiatives.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years' practical experience in a medium to high-risk working environment.
- Previous experience within ports, shipping, logistics, heavy industry or similar sectors will be considered an asset.
- Ability to conduct risk assessments and implement effective control measures with confidence and professionalism.
- Fluent in both Maltese and English.
- The successful candidate will be required to obtain the NEBOSH International General Certificate (IGC) during the first year of employment. (This will be fully sponsored by the company).
