Due to continued business growth, we are looking to recruit an HSE Coordinator to join the team. Reporting to the HSE Advisor, the successful candidate will play a key role in promoting a strong health, safety and environmental culture while ensuring compliance with legal and organisational standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Promote best practices in Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) management across all manufacturing operations.
- Ensure compliance with applicable HSE legislation, regulations and internal standards while identifying and mitigating compliance risks.
- Develop, implement and monitor effective risk management strategies to enhance workplace safety.
- Keep management and employees informed of relevant HSE legislation, regulatory updates and industry best practices.
- Review, develop and maintain HSE policies, procedures and guidelines, recommending improvements where appropriate.
- Collaborate with internal departments to ensure HSE processes align with legal obligations and management system requirements.
- Support management in maintaining compliance with relevant HSE management systems and standards.
- Design and deliver internal training sessions to promote awareness of HSE policies, procedures and safe working practices.
- Participate in HSE committees and working groups, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Provide guidance and support to safety representatives and operational leaders, helping to strengthen their HSE knowledge and capabilities.
Experience & Requirements
- A minimum of three years' experience in a Health, Safety and Environmental role.
- NEBOSH Occupational Health & Safety Certificate and/or NEBOSH Environmental Certificate.
- A Diploma in Health & Safety or a related discipline will be considered an asset.
- Strong understanding of HSE legislation, standards and industry best practices.
- Self-motivated with a willingness to learn, develop and take initiative.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently and meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret technical information and make informed decisions.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage effectively with management, employees and regulatory bodies.
- Proven ability to build strong working relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Effective leadership and collaboration skills, with the ability to drive compliance without direct authority.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
