Our client, a well-established organisation operating within a highly regulated industrial environment, is seeking to recruit a Health, Safety, Environment & Quality Officer to join their team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HSEQ professional to take ownership of health and safety, environmental compliance and quality management systems within a critical operational environment.
The Main Responsibilities include:
- Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety, environmental regulations and COMAH requirements.
- Implement, maintain and continuously improve Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality Management Systems.
- Prepare, review and update risk assessments, safe working procedures and operational guidelines.
- Monitor workplace safety standards and support the ongoing improvement of safety practices.
- Identify employee, subcontractor and client training requirements and coordinate relevant training initiatives.
- Maintain and update the Quality Management System in line with ISO 9001 standards.
- Act as the Quality Representative and support quality-related activities across the organisation.
- Act as the Technically Competent Person for environmental permit requirements.
- Keep up to date with changes in health, safety and environmental legislation.
- Organise and support regular safety committee meetings.
- Carry out inspections, audits and other related activities as required.
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety legislation and environmental compliance.
- Understanding of risk assessments, safe work procedures and workplace safety practices.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with employees at all levels.
- A proactive and hands-on approach with strong attention to detail.
Education and experience
- Previous experience in a Health & Safety, Environment and/or Quality role.
- Experience working with management systems, ideally ISO 9001.
- Experience within a manufacturing, industrial, energy, chemical or other highly regulated environment would be considered an asset.
