Our client is looking to recruit a Health & Safety Compliance Executive. Reporting to the Head & Safety Lead, the chosen candidate will:
Support the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of the organization's Health and Safety Management Systems (HSMS), ensuring they remain robust, effective, and aligned with relevant international standards and best practices.
Contribute to the evaluation, selection, implementation, and optimization of health and safety systems, ensuring successful deployment, user adoption, system performance monitoring, and ongoing enhancement across the organization.
Lead and manage the internal Health and Safety audit programme, applying a structured, risk-based approach to assess compliance, identify improvement opportunities, and monitor performance across all departments.
Conduct audits of Health and Safety Management Systems, identify non-conformities, and ensure corrective and preventive actions are implemented effectively and closed within agreed timeframes.
Ensure Health and Safety Management Systems are effectively embedded across Infrastructure Safety and Operational Safety, driving regular reviews, governance, and continuous improvement.
Support the configuration, development, and implementation of Safe Systems of Work (SSoW), ensuring they are risk-based, integrated within the Health and Safety Management Systems, and consistently applied across Infrastructure Safety and Operational Safety.
Contribute to organizational risk management by supporting risk assessments, monitoring high-risk operations, participating in incident investigations, and addressing psychosocial risks in accordance with ISO 45003.
Support the development and delivery of health and safety training, awareness programmes, and engagement initiatives that promote a proactive and positive safety culture throughout the organization.
Analyse health and safety data, prepare reports and performance dashboards, monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), and provide insights that support informed decision-making and continuous improvement.
Requirements
A degree in Business Management, Quality Management, Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related discipline
Professional certification in auditing or management systems (e.g. ISO Lead Auditor) is highly desirable
Proven experience in internal auditing, compliance assurance, or management systems
Strong understanding of management system frameworks, particularly ISO 45001; familiarity with other ISO standards (e.g. ISO 9001, ISO 14001) is an advantage
Experience in implementing, maintaining, or improving management systems, including monitoring effectiveness and driving continuous improvement
Ability to evaluate systems, identify gaps, and support effective implementation and adoption
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and identify trends
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence across all levels of the organization
High level of attention to detail, with a structured and methodical approach to work
Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with audit/compliance systems or digital platforms is an advantage
