Our client, a start up payments company is seeking to recruit a Junior Operations Officer to join their growing team.
Main responsibilities:
Payment Operations
- Process and monitor incoming and outgoing payments across SEPA, SWIFT, card, and instant payment channels.
- Support daily transaction processing across multiple currencies and payment platforms.
- Maintain accurate payment records, system logs, client accounts, and balances.
Reconciliations & Reporting
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliations across bank accounts, payment schemes, client accounts, and internal ledgers.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies and reconciliation breaks.
- Prepare operational and regulatory reports as required.
Payment Schemes & Banking Partners
- Coordinate with partner banks and payment scheme operators to support timely settlements.
- Monitor settlement files, cut-off times, returns, and rejected payments.
- Escalate settlement issues, system anomalies, and exceptions when required.
- Maintain knowledge of relevant payment scheme rules and requirements.
Systems & Process Improvement
- Perform daily system and transaction monitoring to ensure data integrity and operational continuity.
- Support system testing, upgrades, and incident management in collaboration with IT.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation.
- Maintain and update relevant SOPs and operational documentation.
Requirements
- Experience in payment operations, reconciliations, or payment platforms is an asset.
- Exposure to SEPA, SWIFT, card payments, or settlement processes is advantageous.
- Basic understanding of APIs is a plus.
- Ability to work accurately and effectively in a fast-paced environment.

- A Level Standard of Education
