A highly regarded and reputable client of ours, specialised within Financial Services, is looking to onboard a Head of Finance, to join their team of professionals.
The designated person will report to the Executive Committee, and responsibilities are as follow:
Duties:
- Manage all finance and accounting operations in collaboration with the Finance Manager.
- Coordinate the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts, and report on variances, preparing and publishing annual financial statements within statutory deadlines.
- Administer all accounting operations, including invoices, tax, insurance contract reviews for IFRS 17 accounting, and revenue recognition.
- Research technical accounting issues for compliance; ensuring compliance with all reporting deadlines and tax filings.
- Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting, including QRTs and NSTs for all entities, in a timely manner.
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls, as required.
- Coordinate internal and external audit processes
- Oversee the preparation and distribution of timely management accounts and reports; also managing the implementation and coordination of new accounting standards.
- Comply with all general IFRS and Solvency II requirements, and in particular liaise with the actuarial function to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including, but not limited to, the calculation and monitoring of regulatory and solvency capital requirements in line with regulations, and approved Board policies.
- Follow up on reinsurance statements of accounts in accordance with the requirements of each applicable treaty.
- Compile cash flow projections and liquidity assessments on an ongoing basis, assisting with developing plans and projections for financial growth.
Requirements
- A minimum of 5 years’ local experience, within a similar senior/managerial Accounting and Finance role.
- Experience in insurance related IFRS requirements; knowledge of IFRS 17 is a key requirement.
- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
- Exposure to Solvency II requirements and knowledge of the insurance market will be considered a strong asset.
- Excellent coordination, analytical, communication and organisational skills.
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- Available to occasionally travel abroad for work-related matters.
