A reputable client of ours specialising in the Financial ( Insurance ) sector is looking to onboard a Financial Accountant to join their team of professionals; Insurance experience and IFRS17 exposure are non negotiable requirements here. The designated person will be working closely with the CFO/Head of Finance, and responsibilities are as follows:
Duties:
- Oversee the preparation and submission of VAT notice of payments, Stamp Duty and the Company’s tax returns
- Assist with treasury requirements of the Company including the collection of funds and payments
- Oversee the preparation and analysis of monthly management accounts and other ad-hoc reports, as required
- Assist in the documentation and updating of the finance manual, policies and procedures, as well as the execution of the external audit including drafting of the Company’s financial statements
- Ensure that the financial and regulatory results of the entity are properly prepared and meet the requirements of all regulatory bodies
- Assist in the preparation of the Own Risk and Solvency Assessment as appropriate
- Support in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, also assisting in the treatment and application of IFRS 17
- Oversee the maintenance of registers for investments and related party transactions
- Manage the preparation of valuations of assets and impairment assessment under IFRS 9
- Develop collaborative working relationships within the organisation and actively contribute towards the development and achievement of the Company’s long term strategic and annual business plans
- Oversee other general accounting and reporting duties as assigned by management
Requirements
- Experience within the Insurance industry, and solid exposure to IFRS 17 standards, are non negotiable requirements
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills inn English
- Must be highly ethical and possess excellent time/organisational management skills
