The Tendering Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for preparing accurate estimates and pre-bid packages for construction projects and finishes (if required). The role also involves the analysis of actual project costs and labour productivity to ensure commercial efficiency.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
Tender Management: Review all tender documents upon receipt, determine the scope of works, and submit necessary tender queries.
Estimation & Measurement: Accurately estimate labour, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs. Measure and prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQs) for Lump Sum bids.
Sourcing & Market Analysis: Obtain competitive quotations from suppliers and subcontractors, while keeping up to date with the local market.
Risk Assessment: Identify potential risks and opportunities for projects currently being tendered.
Collaboration: Assist in the preparation of method statements, programmes of work, and other tender submission documents.
Deadline Management: Ensure that all relevant documents and financial offers are submitted strictly before bid deadlines.
Site Visits: Attend site visits as required.
Post-Contract Support: Analyse actual costs of executed projects, maintain the cost and labour productivity library, and assist with post-contract matters when necessary.
Requirements
Education: Possession of an MQF Level 6 (Degree) in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or an equivalent field of study.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of working experience as an Estimator or Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry.
Languages: Strong written and spoken communication skills in English.
Excellent knowledge of construction methodologies, best industry practices, and standards.
Highly proficient in MS Office, Microsoft Projects, and AutoCAD.
