The Quality Engineer is responsible for monitoring, evaluating, and reporting on the company's internal processes to ensure compliance with quality standards, while upholding all health, safety, and environmental requirements. A key aspect of the role is the preparation and submission of customer-specific documentation required for product approval.
Responsibilities
- Secure customer product approval through the preparation and submission of PPAP, FAIR, and ISIR documentation.
- Generate and provide customer-required quality documentation, including material certificates, test reports, and dimensional inspection reports.
- Develop, maintain, and manage quality planning documentation such as Process Flow Diagrams (PF), Control Plans (CP), and Failure Mode and Effects Analyses (FMEA).
- Oversee the calibration system for measuring equipment and manage Measurement System Analysis (MSA) activities.
- Administer internal non-conformance procedures and production hold processes.
- Conduct internal quality audits in accordance with the company’s audit schedule.
- Perform layout inspections, Statistical Process Control (SPC) analysis, and process capability studies as required.
- Participate in Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) activities and support the creation of new part numbers.
- Review and approve engineering drawings as part of the secondary verification process.
- Manage quarantine areas and coordinate rework activities when necessary.
- Maintain and administer the company's IMDS (International Material Data System) requirements.
- Ensure compliance with material conformity regulations and customer requirements, including REACH, RoHS, California Proposition 65, and related standards.
Requirements
- Experience with customer approval processes (PPP, FAIR, ISIR).
- Experience conducting internal and external quality audits.
- Knowledge of APQP, FMEA, Control Plans, and Process Flow documentation.
- Experience handling non-conformances, corrective actions, and continuous improvement activities.
- Familiarity with calibration systems and Measurement System Analysis (MSA).
