Our client, Gasco Energy ltd, a joint venture company between Maltese and Italian shareholders, operating in the energy sector owning a state-of-the-art fully automated LPG facility consisting of a marine importation terminal, bulk storage, cylinder filling and cylinder testing plants situated in Malta, is seeking to employ an Operations Officer to manage daily plant operations, oversee plant maintenance, participate in management decisions and to assist and deputize for the plant manager.
The Main Responsibilities include:
- Assisting and deputising for the Plant Manager in the daily running of terminal and plant activities.
- Assigning operators and labourers to cylinder filling and testing stations to hit daily production targets.
- Supervising cylinder controllers and floor teams to ensure safe execution, floor discipline, and correct procedures.
- Assisting directly with and supervising ship unloading operations
- Coordinating periodic preventative maintenance and urgent repairs on plant machinery and equipment.
- Partnering with the HSEQ Officer to enforce strict adherence to health, safety, environmental, and quality standards (COMAH compliance)
- Tracking daily gas stocks, production outputs, spare parts stores, employee attendance, and overtime rosters.
- Maintaining high standards of plant cleanliness, general housekeeping, and safety readiness across the site.
Working Hours:
Monday - Friday, 07:30 - 15:30
Requirements
- Hands-on leader with good communication skills. Capable of dividing time between floor coordination and office administration
- Experience in pressurized gas systems, automated PLC production lines, and preventative maintenance protocols will be considered an asset.
- Fluent in English; knowledge of Maltese is highly advantageous for communicating with floor staff.
Education and experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
- Possession of a valid local Engineering Warrant.
- Proven technical background in operations or plant management
