Our client is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to join their Quality team. Reporting to the Quality Manager, the chosen candidate will:
Process Improvement & Manufacturing Excellence
- Lead cost reduction initiatives, continuous improvement programs, and Lean / Six Sigma projects.
- Optimize production processes to enhance yields, improve machine uptime, and reduce scrap.
- Drive shop floor organization and standardization utilizing 5S methodologies.
- Participate in daily Gemba walks, stand-up operational meetings, and anomaly management processes.
Quality Engineering & Tooling Management
- Maintain and update critical quality documentation, including Process Instructions, Control Plans, and FMEAs.
- Identify and execute Root Cause Analysis (RCA) along with corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to meet strict client specifications.
- Hold direct authority to halt shipments or stop production if non-conforming products are identified.
- Oversee tool inventories, raise purchase documentation for new tooling, and optimize tool designs to enhance productivity.
- Process engineering inputs for RFQs, capacity planning, and technical submittals in a timely manner.
New Process Introduction & Training
Lead the qualification, testing, and implementation of new manufacturing processes, tools, and machinery on the shop floor.
Conduct technical training for machine operators and production staff to ensure operational adherence and safety.
Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) & Compliance
- Enforce strict compliance with ISO 14001 (Environmental) and ISO 45001 (Occupational Health & Safety) management systems.
- Participate in risk reduction plans, promote hazard/near-miss reporting, and ensure safety communications are actively maintained.
- Ensure all team members adhere to area protocols, dress codes, clean/safety entry procedures, and internal company policies.

Education and experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Maltese.
- Solid understanding of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, FMEA, Control Plans, and Six Sigma principles.
