Our client, a start-up company here in Malta is looking to recruit a Head of Data Management & Business Information.
Main responsibilities :
Lead and deliver the Group’s data strategy, governance framework, and data management roadmap.
Champion a data-first culture and promote the effective use of data across the organisation.
Establish and maintain robust data governance policies, standards, ownership models, and controls.
Drive data quality management, including quality metrics, monitoring, validation, and continuous improvement.
Ensure data privacy, security, storage, retention, and governance practices comply with applicable requirements, including GDPR and DORA.
Develop and maintain enterprise-wide data dictionaries, business glossaries, metadata, and data asset inventories.
Lead the design and delivery of scalable Business Information (BI) and Management Information (MI) solutions, dashboards, and reporting.
Oversee the delivery of accurate, timely, and actionable operational, management, regulatory, and ad hoc reporting.
Support regulatory reporting requirements, including Financial Crime, CESOP, PSS, FATCA/CRS, Irish Stamp Duty, card scheme reporting, and digital wallet reporting.
Ensure reliable data delivery for key business processes, including financial reconciliations, transaction monitoring, and suspicious activity and transaction reporting.
Define and modernise core data architecture, including databases, cloud platforms, APIs, integrations, and ETL/ELT pipelines.
Lead data and reporting testing for new products, services, and processor integrations.
Manage and optimise relationships with data platform vendors, technology partners, and payment processors, including KANI and Comply Radar.
Monitor vendor and processor performance and ensure delivery in line with agreed service levels and business requirements.
Act as a trusted data subject matter expert, supporting processor selection, product development, and strategic business initiatives.
Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing data team.
Drive data readiness and governance to support the responsible adoption of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML).
Lead strategic and ad hoc data initiatives on behalf of executive leadership.
Requirements
Strong understanding of regulatory and compliance frameworks, including PCI DSS, GDPR, DORA, and relevant regulatory reporting requirements.
Strong analytical and data manipulation skills, with hands-on experience using tools such as SQL, Power BI, DAX, and Python.
Practical knowledge of card issuance, card processing, and card scheme ecosystems, including Visa and Mastercard.
At least six years’ relevant experience in data management, data governance, business intelligence, data analytics, or a related field.
