We are seeking a Database Engineer to support the development, testing, automation, and maintenance of our client's enterprise database stack. In this role, you will collaborate closely with developers and software architects to design, optimize, and scale database systems built primarily on MySQL and PostgreSQL.
You will focus on complex design considerations to achieve exceptional performance, reliability, and high availability across all product platforms. This role offers an ideal balance of database administration, performance tuning, automation, and continuous improvement through modern technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with developers and architects to optimize schemas, queries, and data aspects to ensure peak product performance.
- Install, maintain, monitor, and optimize MySQL and PostgreSQL database stacks.
- Ensure high database availability and reliability while keeping robust disaster recovery procedures in place.
- Utilize scripting and latest technology solutions (including AI tools) to automate repetitive administrative and maintenance tasks.
- Deploy PoC solutions for new data technologies and maintain clear technical documentation.
- Establish database best practices and help internal teams access data effectively and securely
Requirements
- Around 2 years of practical experience working with relational databases, open-source software, and database administration.
- Hands-on administration experience with MySQL, PostgreSQL, and writing complex SQL queries and stored procedures.
- Strong working knowledge of Linux environments.
- Proficiency in a scripting language such as Python for automation and task execution.
- Working knowledge of containerization technologies like Docker.
- Practical familiarity with Apache Airflow or utilizing AI tools for database automation and troubleshooting is a strong asset.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities, strong communication skills, and the capacity to work efficiently under tight deadlines.
