Our client is a private company specialising in the construction and renovation of custom, one-off residential and commercial properties. We are looking to recruit a Project Manager to join their growing team. Reporting to the CEO, the chosen candidate will manage:
Key Responsibilities
End-to-End Project Oversight & Site Delivery
- Oversee the full lifecycle of unique residential and commercial transformations from concept, planning, and structural works through to turnkey finishing and interior detailing.
- Serve as the central point of contact between the owners, appointed lead architects (periti), structural consultants, interior designers, MEP engineers, and specialist subcontractors.
- Lead regular on-site walkthroughs and progress reviews, ensuring contractor works align precisely with approved architectural plans, engineering standards, and finish schedules.
- Identify potential bottlenecks or discrepancies early, prioritising thorough planning and proactive alignment with the Owners over rushed execution.
Fine Finishes & Aesthetic Quality Control
- Champion an uncompromising standard of execution where the smallest details matter - from the precise hue and warmth of architectural lighting, to flawless finishings, bespoke joinery and the choice of material and fixtures.
- Maintain a deep aesthetic appreciation for historical architecture, spatial harmony, and contemporary high-end design, ensuring the unique character of every property is maximised.
- Inspect materials and artisan workmanship critically, holding contractors and suppliers strictly accountable to delivery of premium, defect-free finishes.
Strategic Communication & Principal Liaison
- Work directly alongside the Owners, maintaining an open, transparent, and structured reporting line.
- Proactively present solutions, planning variations, and material samples for review; consult directly on technical or aesthetic nuances rather than operating on assumptions.
- Coordinate planning authority submissions, permits, compliance certifications, and legal documentation with external periti and family legal advisors.
Requirements
- Comfortable working autonomously in a standalone capacity while managing demanding expectations with professionalism, humility, and clear communication.
- Grounded, resilient, organized, and confident.
- Proactive, consultative, and thorough mindset
- One must hold an innate, cultivated appreciation for design, art, proportion, lighting, and materiality.
Education and experience
- Fluency in Maltese and English is essential.
- Must hold a clean driving licence and own transport to travel regularly between sites in Malta and Gozo.
- Must be based in Malta holding local experience.
- Background in Architecture, Interior Architecture, or High-End Construction Project Management is a must.
