Our client is seeking a warranted Architect to join their Planning & Design team. The successful candidate will manage planning permit applications across approximately four projects at a time, liaising with external authorities, coordinating site meetings and ensuring all submissions meet planning regulations and project deadlines.
The Main Responsibilities include:
- Prepare and submit planning permit applications, including drawings and supporting documentation.
- Liaise with external authorities, respond to queries and prepare minor amendments.
- Coordinate site meetings and planning-related project milestones.
- Prepare façade drawings in line with the agreed design direction.
- Coordinate with the Senior Draughtsman on concept layouts and planning drawings, reviewing work before use.
- Ensure drawings and documents comply with company standards and planning regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of submitted and approved drawings.
- Monitor permit progress, conditions and deadlines, providing regular status updates.
- Escalate complex planning issues, potential delays and design changes to senior management.
Key Performance Indicators
- Timely responses: 100% of queries answered within the required deadlines.
- Complete applications: At least 90% accepted as complete upon first submission.
- On-time delivery: 100% of planning deliverables submitted by agreed project milestone dates.
Working Hours:
Monday - Friday, 8AM-5PM
Requirements
- Proficiency in relevant architectural design software, such as AutoCAD; knowledge of BIM software is an advantage.
- Good understanding of architectural drawings, planning processes and construction documentation.
- Strong attention to detail, organisational and communication skills.
- A proactive approach, willingness to learn and ability to work effectively within a team.
Education and experience
- - A valid architect’s warrant issued by the relevant Maltese authorities is essential for this position.
- Previous experience in architecture, construction or property development is an asset.
