We are currently seeking an Operations & Husbandry Officer for our client to join their team. This role provides an excellent opportunity to be part of Malta’s dynamic shipping and maritime industry, supporting day-to-day vessel operations and ensuring the smooth coordination of services within Malta’s ports and territorial waters. Full training will be provided to the selected candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing Port Operations: Oversee and coordinate all aspects of vessel operations at Malta’s port facilities, ensuring smooth arrivals and departures.
- Vessel Husbandry: Take charge of the care and logistical support required for vessels calling at the port, ensuring everything is in place for their stay.
- Coordinating with Shipping Lines: Maintain communication with MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company and other key industry players to facilitate efficient vessel operations.
- Liaising with Terminals & Service Providers: Work closely with port terminals and external service providers to ensure timely and seamless vessel handling.
The above is an Operational role and will require the chosen candidate to participate in an "On Call Roster" to cover our operations during the evening/nights and during week ends.
Requirements
- You’re able to juggle multiple tasks and thrive in a dynamic work environment.
- You have a keen interest in maritime operations and logistics.
- You are organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage records and documents efficiently.
- You perform well under strict deadlines and high-pressure situations.
- Candidates must be able to work flexible hours: both working from their offices in Valletta as well as remotely and during after office hours.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and capable of using industry-related software
- Candidates must be based in Malta
- Fluency in English
