Our client is an upcoming construction and real estate development company who is growing. As they are building a corporate structure, they would like to engage a Head of Procurement who will be reporting directly into the Director.
The Role
- The position holds primary accountability for group supplier commitments, ensuring all purchases stay within project budgets and signed contracts of works.
- Core responsibilities include enforcing standard buying rule as set by the company.
- The role exercises sole authority over rule exceptions, supplier performance evaluations, and corrective actions for failing suppliers.
- Departmental operational duties cover approving standard BoQ and SLA templates, as well as overseeing site administration, reception, fleet, PPE, and permits.
- People management duties involve making departmental hiring and personnel decisions below senior level in coordination with HR.
- The position writes and updates all departmental standard operating procedures while maintaining regular quarterly performance reviews with direct reports.
- Performance is evaluated against monthly KPIs focusing on compliance, high supplier quality scores, full review completion, and decision-map adherence.
Requirements
- High level executive leadership experience in a similar within a construction environment
- Extensive expertise in end to end procurement governance, contract management, supplier quality scoring, and process drafting.
- Demonstrated financial control capabilities, specifically in budget enforcement, Purchase Order systems, and Bill of Quantities (BoQ) oversight.
- Proven track record in departmental administration, operational service delivery, and managing team reviews and personnel decisions.
Education and experience
- A qualification(level 6 or above) preferably in a related field.
