Our client is a leader in its field of operation. As they are growing, they would like to engage a General Manager to join their team.
The Role
- You must develop, recommend, and implement long-term strategic plans that align with the objectives of the Board of Directors.
- You will direct, coordinate, and control the day-to-day activities of all company divisions to ensure operational efficiency.
- The role requires actively supporting business development, networking, and relationship-building with clients, suppliers, and industry partners.
- You will be responsible for supporting pricing strategies, commercial proposals, and negotiating major client contracts.
- You must work closely with the finance department to manage budgets, forecasts, cash flow, and cost control.
- You will lead, guide, and set clear performance and accountability expectations for all department heads.
- Regular reporting to the Board of Directors regarding operational performance, financial concerns, and strategic initiatives is required.
- The position serves as the senior point of contact for key clients, strategic accounts, and major suppliers.
- You will oversee risk management, health and safety obligations, and ensure high standards of technical delivery across all sites.
- You will make day-to-day operational decisions, approve delegated expenditures, and recommend investments to the Board.
Experience and Personal Attributes
- You should possess proven experience in a senior management or general management role.
- Direct experience in exhibitions, or technical project delivery is highly preferred.
- You will have strong leadership capabilities, strategic thinking, and a highly professional, collaborative style.
- You must have excellent communication, presentation, and high-level commercial negotiation skills.
- Strong financial literacy, including a solid understanding of budgets, profit margins, and costing, is essential for success in this role.
