A family-run CSP is seeking an experienced and pro-active Senior Client Accountant to manage a portfolio of Maltese clients. This is a hands-on role requiring ownership of the full accounting process, from bookkeeping and transaction posting through to financial reporting, tax compliance, and client relationship management.
Responsibilities:
Independently manage and take ownership of a portfolio of Maltese clients
Handle the full accounting cycle, from transaction processing and reconciliations to management accounts and financial statements
Prepare VAT returns, tax returns, and statutory filings while ensuring compliance with Maltese regulations
Monitor financial performance and provide clients with financial reporting, analysis, and practical business support
Act as the main point of contact for clients, auditors, banks, and regulatory authorities
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and audit processes
Attend occasional client meetings and site visits when required
Requirements
Mature, autonomous, and capable of managing client relationships independently
Strong knowledge of Maltese accounting, VAT, and tax requirements
Proficient in Microsoft Office and accounting software
Valid driving licence preferred
Education and Experience
Fully qualified accountant (ACCA, CPA, ACA, Accountancy degree, or equivalent)
3-5 years' accounting experience, ideally within a CSP, accounting practice, or client accounting environment
